The opt-out period for My Health Record has been extended until 15 November 2018, after a request was made by the Australian Medical Association and the Royal College of General Practitioners. The extension will also be used to amend the 2012 My Health Record legislation to include an option for individuals to permanently opt-out of the system and have their record deleted if desired.
