Elderly deaths could be avoided if hospital care was replaced with home care

A study has found that deaths among the elderly from a common heart problem could be prevented if hospital care was replaced with home care. The study found that tens of thousands of people are discharged from hospital with atrial fibrillation each year, which often leads to re-admission if care is not maintained effectively.
